Arthritis and Rheumatism Treatment

A Natural Remedy for Arthritis and Rheumatism Treatment

Arthritis is inflammation of the joints. It can affect one joint or several. It is most common in people over the age of 65, more commonly found in women and people who are overweight. However it is not exclusive to those groups.

There are over a hundred different types of Arthritis but the two most common types are Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis.

Osteoarthritis occurs naturally. As you are constantly using your joints, the cartilage tissue wears down, causing osteoarthritis. An injury or infection to the join can speed this process along. You may also be more prone to developing Osteoarthritis if your family has a history of this ailment.

Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disorder. This occurs when the body’s immune system attacks the tissue in the joints. This can eventually lead to permanent damage to the bone and cartilage. Whilst the causes are mostly unknown, scientists have found a genetic marker that can increase your chances of developing Rheumatoid Arthritis by at least five times.

Rheumatism is an umbrella term used for any type of condition that causes chronic pain affecting the joints and connective tissue. There are over 200 different types of ‘Rheumatic’ disease, each with their own different causes and symptoms.

Whilst the treatment protocol below is a general overview, we always recommend booking a consultation face to face or if this is not possible then a consultation over the phone is also available.
